Post discharge.

Hey there!

SO just to catch everyone up.  I was discharged over 2 weeks ago.  YAY!  There is honestly no place like home.  Specially to heal and recharge.  We have gotten into quite the routine and with minimal sickness over these last few weeks I have been able to do more leading up to my second dose of Chemo.

So here I sit, the youngest one in the room, I was the first one here today and I will be the last to leave.  I hope that this is not contusive to how aggressive my cancer is.  But that is all that I can think about as I sit in this room.  That and how my hair started falling out in clumps in the shower this morning.  I knew it was coming, but it definitely put me into a dark place today.  The side effects from these medications are no joke.  I've had peripheral neuropathy in both of my hands since the beginning, I am on a medication for that but it is not helping much.  All of my fingers are affected, and I am beyond limited with their movement due to my Psoriatic Arthritis.  I have gone off all of my medication for PA at this point, so the pain in my hands is coming back slowly.

Last Friday I had my port placed and although it was interesting that they inserted it under local anesthesia, it is something that I never want to do again.  The crew in the OR did ask me who my favorite band was, so it was cool to sing along to OAR while on pain meds.  I also think that OAR gained a few new fans.

The chemotherapy lowers my white and red blood cells, so I have to periodically go to my MDs office for misc. injections to increase them.  It's kind of a pain.

The Plan.

The current regimen is for me to get 6 rounds of RCHOP Chemotherapy, then we will Pet Scan and take a look at the organs that were affected.  The Spleen feels good now, and the swollen liver has gone down immensely.  Fingers crossed that the cancer will be gone from them both.  Also, the BAD markers that oncologists look at for "successful remission" mine all look great!

My Halo wig came in, so HAT'S, I need cute hats...be on the lookout please.
